We are in the infant stages also.... year two 1/2 of alumni programs. Some quick
ideas...

We have an alumni newsletter that goes out twice a year...would be happy to fax
you a copy.

We started out with college events coordinated w/ snacks, coffee, punch etc.....
Night at the theater, Civic Orchestra concert.  This past Oct. the alumni board
(Get one together if you don't have one) ....decided to sponsor an Alumni run.
Funds from all proceeds go to an alumni sponsored scholarship.

All this started with Harris conducting a survey and our first alumni directory.
Our community college was formed in 1967...we did a complete history....

Prospect Research for determining and locating "distinguished" alumni?  They
will also come out in the Harris study.

Cultivate them for a while to get them use to newsletters. We offer all grads
one year free membership to alumni association (Benefits include discounts on
classes continuing ed...etc... facilities rentals) and the alumni board is
always present at graduation.  New grads get mini diplomas mailed them.  ALL
14,000 + alumni are on our mailing list for newsletters....

We conducted our first phonathon using selected alumni our first time out. We
send out an all alumni solicitation mailing.  We considered the efforts very
successful...
