Actually, I think it pertains to information you obtained while they were a student . . .

Although I am open to other opinions, my understanding of FERPA leads me
to believe that it relates to current students, and not specifically

Subject: [FUNDSVCS] Ferpa and alumni information
I've read the archives, but nothing as specific as this was discussed.
Is verifying to a prospective employer that a 1977 alumnus received a
master's degree at our institution considered a violation of FERPA?
Nothing else was asked, and our student records office seems to think
that "confidentiality" means denying that we even have the student in
our database. Doesn't FERPA end somewhere???
